Cairo LRT is an electrified regional rail system linking the city of Cairo to Egypt's New Administrative Capital and the 10th of Ramadan City. An initial 70 km route consisting of 12 stations was inaugurated on 3 July 2022.
The project includes Power supply for the whole LRT project through two traction substations 220/27.5kv as the first station of its kind in Egypt and 12 passenger stations power supplying in addition to full power supply for OCC and depot.
LRT line connects the New Administrative Capital with various cities in Cairo, that includes New Heliopolis, Al Salam, 10th of Ramadan, Al Shorouk, and Al Mostakbal cities.
