Smartenergy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Egyptian Government to implement a project to produce green hydrogen.

 

Under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, The MOU was signed by Mr. João Cunha, COO and Deputy CEO of Smartenergy, and from the government authorities it was signed by: Dr. Mohamed El-Khayat, Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, Mr. Ayman Soliman, CEO of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt, Mr. Walid Gamal El Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, & Eng. Khaled Abdel Karim, Head of Studies at the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Dr. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum, and Dr. Hala ElSaid, Minister of Planning and Economic Development. The signing was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madkour, Chairman of MADKOUR Group, Eng. Mohamed Abdelsattar Madkour, Renewable Energy Director, as well as Mr. Pedro Guedes de Campos, Business Development Director of Smartenergy.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mostafa Madkour engaged in discussions with representatives from both the government and foreign partners to explore the potential for developing projects and increasing the value-added to the Egyptian economy.

This project comes in line with the Egyptian vision’s 2035 &2050 and efforts regarding the energy transition and to maximize the clean energy portion in the energy mix.
